Strengthening the Special Practice of Listening Counseling Course
Practice listening through real questions over the years
Listen attentively for 40 minutes every day.
Dictation is an effective way to improve listening. It is suggested to find some standard English listening materials and recommend the second or third volume of the English version of "New Concept". The listening part of this textbook has moderate speech speed, clear and accurate pronunciation and strict grammar, which is very suitable for improving listening. Please listen carefully and make sure that you can hear every word clearly and write it out. If you persist in this way for a while, the effect will be amazing. As an adjustment, you can also watch some original English movies or TV series. At first, you can have both Chinese and English subtitles, and watch them alternately until you understand them. Gradually, I only read English subtitles until there are no Chinese and English subtitles, I can hear a general meaning and write lines from film and television dramas.
For most candidates, the listening part is a short board, and it is also the "culprit" that leads to a customs clearance failure. It is suggested that candidates take part in some special listening counseling, which is very necessary to improve their listening level and pass CET-6 at one time.
The real question is still the most important practice material. I suggest you listen to the real questions over the years and listen carefully, at least for three consecutive rounds. Mark the places that you didn't hear clearly, can't be sure, and didn't reflect in time, and analyze them carefully against the reference answers. Study the short conversations in listening and write them down carefully. If you can do it carefully and write short conversations silently, your listening level has reached a great level. If you have time, you can also recite listening materials, which is also good for cultivating language sense and oral memory in listening. It should be noted that the listening reform from June 65438 to June 2006 should be practiced with the real questions after the reform, and the ones before the reform should be used as reference.
The improvement of listening ability is a subtle process, the so-called "three points of practice, seven points of practice." Therefore, in the process of preparing for CET-6 listening, the most important thing is to ensure that you listen to English every day. I suggest you set aside 40 minutes every day to listen to news, variety shows, audio books or movies, but you must concentrate on it and immerse yourself in the English environment.
Actually, CET-6 listening still depends on the usual accumulation. We should know more about foreign cultural backgrounds and be familiar with their daily communication terms. Usually, we should also pay attention to cultivating our own pronunciation and learning English pronunciation skills. In particular, we should find out the rules of continuous reading, watch more English movies or cartoons and listen to more English songs. There will be many conjunctions in it, and we will imitate them more, so that when we meet them in the listening test, our brains will naturally react. You can also download some recordings of VOA and BBC from the Internet. At first, you can listen sentence by sentence. When you meet a word you don't know, guess how to spell it by yourself according to the pronunciation, and then look it up in the dictionary to find out the meaning of the sentence. At first, it will be slow and difficult. But as long as you persist, after one year or half a year, you will be surprised to find that your listening level has improved a lot, and you can actually hear a word you haven't learned, and 90% of them can write it correctly. This is the usual practice. You should listen carefully and remember the words, so I won't say anything.
Speaking of exams, listening is also about skills. You should learn to listen to key words and sentences. Sometimes a topic can be done correctly as long as one word is heard correctly, and the rest of the time can be used to look at the next topic. To learn to listen to key words and sentences, you must learn to look at the topic and analyze the difference between the answer and the answer before listening. What is often different is the part that you need to listen carefully. You also need to pay attention to the names and places in the question, which may be mentioned later.
