Sichuan University for Nationalities is a provincial full-time undergraduate college located in kangding city, the hometown of love songs. The school has been selected into the "double first-class" construction plan of colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, the education and training plan of outstanding legal talents in Sichuan Province, and the education and training plan of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents in Sichuan Province. It is the only national undergraduate college in Kangba area and a provincial "garden-style campus".
The school was established in 1985, and Kangding Teachers College for Nationalities was established. 1992, the school was renamed "Kangding Teachers College for Nationalities". In 2004, Ganzi Agricultural School and Ganzi Finance and Economics School were merged. In 2009, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded and renamed Sichuan University for Nationalities.
As of March 2023, the school has 15 secondary colleges, 33 undergraduate majors, 14 second bachelor's degree majors, 19 specialist majors and ethnic preparatory education, covering 10 disciplines, and full-time students/kloc.
The school has Kangding Campus and Luding Campus, with a campus area of 689 mu and a school building area of 278,000 square meters (newly-built campus area 100 1.97 mu and school building area of 324,600 square meters, which is expected to be fully built before 2029), with a total fixed assets of 637 million yuan, a total teaching and research equipment of 654.38 billion yuan and a collection of one million papers.
