1. Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) is a famous national university in China and one of the oldest universities in modern China. Shanghai Jiaotong University was formerly known as Nanyang Public School founded by Sheng Xuanhuai on 1896. 1956, some departments moved to Xi 'an and developed into Xi 'an Jiaotong University, while those who stayed in Shanghai developed into Shanghai Jiaotong University. 1999 merged with the former Shanghai Agricultural College, and merged with the former Shanghai Second Medical University in 2005.
2. Shanghai Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Shanghai. Its predecessor was Nanyang Public School, which was founded in 1896. It is one of the oldest universities in China.
