Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, formerly known as Guangzhou Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences of China Academy of Sciences, was founded in June 1958, and changed its name to Guangdong Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences 1974 in June. In September, 1980 was expanded to Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences.
