University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is both a 2 1 1 and a 985 university.

In 1997, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China was identified as the first batch of key universities in the "21/project" in China. In 2000, the former Minister of Information Industry was transferred to the Minister of Education. In 20001,it entered the ranks of "985 Project" key universities, and in 20 17, it entered the national construction of "world-class universities".
