Insist on interdisciplinary research methods, and promote the application of natural science methods to a new height in frontier ancient human beings, environment and culture. Actively participate in the protection and arrangement of the cultural heritage of the motherland, and continue to provide theoretical support for international hot issues involving frontier heritage. Strive to introduce 3-4 outstanding scientific research talents with doctoral degrees from famous universities and research institutes abroad or at home, and promote the organic integration of different academic traditions and styles within the same academic group. Improve graduate students' scientific research and innovation ability in various ways, and cultivate more high-level and compound archaeological talents. Make full use of the national "985 Project" innovation base platform, strengthen discipline construction, and strive to make archaeology enter the ranks of national key disciplines.

After decades of development, the archaeological discipline of Jilin University now has a first-class degree authorization point, a postdoctoral research mobile station, a national training base for research and teaching personnel in humanities and social sciences, a national training base for basic science talents, and a key research base in humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. This archaeological project of the frontier outside Manchuria has also been included in the national "2 1 1 project" key discipline construction project. The archaeological discipline of Jilin University in the 2 1 century will take the ancient culture, human beings and environment in the northern frontier and its adjacent areas as the research objects, form a discipline team through the infiltration of humanities and natural sciences, expand and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with famous universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, and strive to build the archaeological discipline of Jilin University into the basic characteristics of archaeology in the northern frontier of China and archaeology in Northeast Asia, integrating personnel training, scientific research, academic exchange and information consultation.
