Liaoning Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), founded in 1978, is one of the earliest seven institutes of traditional Chinese medicine in China. The unit has 3 third-level laboratories for analysis of traditional Chinese medicine, pharmacology of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical pharmacology in state administration of traditional chinese medicine, 7 provincial-level key laboratories such as Liaoning Key Laboratory for Activity Screening of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Liaoning Key Laboratory for Optimization of Clinical Prescription System, 1 engineering technology center and 1 SPF experimental animal center meeting national standards, which can carry out a series of scientific research work in a scientific and orderly manner. The device is equipped with Waters Xevo G2-XS time-of-flight mass spectrometer, Agilent quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer, PI3200 liquid mass spectrometer, Waters ultra-high performance liquid chromatograph, Roche LightCycler480 real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR system, MagNA Pure LC 2.0 automatic nucleic acid separation, purification and sampling system and MagNALyser tissue homogenate system. The unit now has a full-time TCM research team of nearly 200 people and a stable and skilled doctoral and master's tutor team, among which postdoctoral, doctoral and master's personnel account for more than 50% of the total number of personnel, forming a scientific research team with reasonable TCM research ability and strong level.
