Hou, male, 194 1 was born in Tianjin, 1967 graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Nankai University, and 1995 has been a professor in the Department of Mathematics of Nankai University.

Professor Hou used to be assistant to the director of Nankai Institute of Mathematics of Nankai University, director of the Department of Mathematics, assistant to the president and vice president. At present, he is also the vice chairman of chinese mathematical society, the director of China Mathematics Research and Higher Talent Training Center, and the deputy director of Tianjin Academic Degrees Committee. He is a deputy to the Ninth and Tenth National People's Congresses, a deputy to the 14th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress and a member of the 14th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee.

Professor Hou has been engaged in the research and teaching of Lie groups, Lie algebras and homogeneous differential geometry for many years. Some unsolved mathematical problems are solved, such as: (1) the structure of Weyl group of real semisimple Lie algebra is clearly given, and this unsolved problem is solved satisfactorily; It also makes an important contribution to the study of Keller structure and Keller-like structure on semi-homogeneous manifolds. He has published more than 30 papers in core journals at home and abroad such as China Science and Journal of Algebra. He was hired as a commentator by Mathematical Review in America and Germany. The project leader of the National Natural Science Foundation's key project "Group and its Representation Theory" is also the main academic leader in this discipline in China. More than 20 doctoral students and master students have been trained successively.

Professor Hou was awarded the third prize of scientific and technological progress by the State Education Commission (Ministry of Education) in 1990 and 1998 respectively, and the title of young and middle-aged award expert in Tianjin in 1992, and the second prize of teaching achievement in Tianjin in 2000.
