Tsinghua University, referred to as "Tsinghua" for short, is a deputy ministerial system directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Joined the "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project", "World-class University and First-class Discipline", and was selected into the "Experimental Plan for Training Top Students in Basic Subjects" and "Innovation Ability Improvement Plan of Colleges and Universities".
Tsinghua University's predecessor, Tsinghua Academy, was founded in 19 1 1. The school name "Tsinghua" originated from the school site "Tsinghua Campus", which was a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the Qing government. The funds for its establishment came from 1908, part of boxer indemnity returned by the United States. 19 12 was renamed Tsinghua school. 1928 changed its name to National Tsinghua University. 1937 after the full-scale outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it moved south to Changsha and jointly established the National Temporary University of Changsha with the State Peking University and the private Nankai University. /kloc-moved to Kunming in 0/938 and changed its name to National Southwest Associated University.
19 1 1 On April 9th, the Qing government approved the renaming of You Mei School as Tsinghua School, and concluded the articles of association. On April 29th, Tsinghua School opened in Tsinghua Campus.
1928, Tsinghua University was renamed as the National Tsinghua University, which was administered by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1929 in may, the Nanjing national government decided that the national Tsinghua University was under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ministry of education. By 1937, it has developed into a comprehensive university with four colleges of arts, science, law and engineering and 16 departments.
