The goal and development direction of psychology department of Sun Yat-sen University
Adopting the principle of "paying equal attention to teaching, research and serving the society", it will develop into an all-round research-oriented psychology department that is in line with international standards and serves the society within five years. The specific objectives are as follows:

1) In 2002 or 2003, he applied for the undergraduate major in psychology (the existing major in applied psychology), held a master's degree in basic psychology in 2002 or 2003, a master's degree in developmental and educational psychology in 2004, and a doctor's degree in basic psychology or applied psychology in 2005;

2) Get the support of national (natural science or social science) research fund, and cooperate with international and domestic scholars to apply for various funds;

3) publishing papers in authoritative academic journals at home and abroad;

4) Establish communication networks with international and domestic psychologists and participate in activities;

5) Make use of the school's human and material resources to carry out interdisciplinary research, especially cooperation with neuroscience, medicine and other fields. At present, the Department of Psychology has full-time teachers 12 (including 9 doctoral degree winners and 7 talents planned to be introduced by the school), 9 part-time professors and other professional teachers in the school (the Department of Psychology will introduce 5-6 full-time teachers in the next two years). In the next five years, the Department of Psychology will develop basic psychology and applied psychology based on scientific research, and cultivate a dynamic research and teaching team.

The Department of Psychology will focus on introducing a group of well-trained young doctors who have just graduated and several young and middle-aged scholars with outstanding achievements, and provide generous treatment and research environment (see the recruitment notice of this department for details). 1) cognitive neuroscience

The basic laws of human cognition are studied by means of imaging and behavior, including attention, memory, language, thinking and learning.

2) Applied cognitive psychology

In this paper, the methods of experiments and investigations are used to study online psychology (including online communication, online advertising and online teaching), man-machine relationship, language learning, automatic reasoning and cognitive impairment.

3) Cultural psychology

To study China people's way of thinking and related interpersonal psychology, consumer psychology and advertising psychology.

4) Health psychology and mental health

Based on the research in the above three fields, combined with clinical practice, the research and practice of psychological induction and auxiliary treatment of diseases are carried out.
