Dongguk university (? Dongguk university, abbreviated as DGU, is located in Seoul and other places. Its name means "the country of the East" and it is a private comprehensive research university founded by Cao Xizong, a Buddhist Sect in South Korea.

Dongguk university was founded in 1906, and its predecessor was Jin Ming School with the aim of "saving the country through education". Single university 13, graduate school 1 1. Later, the school was renamed dongguk university on 1946 and upgraded to a comprehensive university on 1953.

Dongguk university established a branch school in Gyeongju, South Korea on 1978, and a life medicine campus in a mountainous area of Gaoyang City, Gyeonggi Province on 201/KLOC-0. In the past century, about 200,000 students in dongguk university graduated from this school.
