Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, referred to as "Beijing Medical University", is a national key university with Chinese medicine characteristics directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). Jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Wellness Commission, state administration of traditional chinese medicine and Beijing, it is a key institution of the National 2 1 1 Project and the 985 Project Innovation Platform.
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956, formerly known as Beijing College of Chinese Medicine, and is the earliest institution of higher learning of Chinese medicine approved by the State Council. 197 1, the school merged with Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine; 1977, separation of the two houses, resumption of independent school running; 1993, the school was renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine; 1996, the school was selected as the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university.
As of June 20 18 and 10, the school has three campuses, namely Heping Street Campus, Wangjing Campus and Liangxiang Campus, covering an area of 108300 square meters, with 14 teaching units, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals and 8 teaching hospitals./
