Chengdu University of Technology, referred to as "Li Cheng", is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Sichuan Province.
National "double first-class" universities were selected as members of "1 1 plan", outstanding engineer education and training plan, national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, basic capacity building project of central and western universities, national new engineering research and practice project, national key discipline project, national demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and CDIO engineering education alliance.
The school was established on 1956 with the approval of the State Council, relying on the Department of Geology of Chongqing University, the Department of Engineering of Nanjing University and Northwest University. At the same time, some cadres and teachers from Beijing Institute of Geology, Northeast Institute of Geology and Jiaotong University were transferred to form a school, formerly known as Chengdu Institute of Geology.
