With a total construction area of 28,000 square meters, it was completed in June 2002. The courtyard layout of the whole building is surrounded by two buildings, north and south. Various computer rooms and academic lecture halls in the building are the highlights of the whole project. The lecture hall includes a main lecture hall with 500 people and four small lecture halls with 250 people. Each hall has a fan-shaped structure, and its main function is to hold meetings and academic reports. The interior design is dignified and elegant, the seats are spacious and comfortable, and there is an impromptu speech space to facilitate the on-site exchange and dialogue between the speaker and the audience. The main lecture hall also has the most advanced sound system and simultaneous translation system in China. Dr Meng, Chairman and Chairman of Hong Kong Shun Hing Group, was employed as an honorary professor of Zhejiang University, and donated RMB100000 to Zhejiang University on behalf of Hong Kong Shun Hing Education Charity Fund, pledging "Meng Lou". Meng and his wife, Ms. Meng Wangbeifen, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Party Secretary and President of Zhejiang University, Yang Wei, Chairman of School Development Committee and other leaders attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon for the building.
