Guo Guichun, 1952, born in Qinxian County, Shanxi Province, graduated from Shanxi University with a master's degree in philosophy, party member, and then went to Cambridge University to study philosophy of science. He has visited and studied in famous universities in the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, Russia, Australia, Canada and other countries. He has served as deputy director of the philosophy department, assistant to the principal, vice principal, executive vice principal, party secretary and principal. At present, he is the chief scientist of philosophy of science and technology, director, professor and doctoral supervisor of the research center of philosophy of science and technology in the key research base of humanities and social sciences in national colleges and universities, member of the Social Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, vice chairman of the Steering Committee of Philosophy Education of the Ministry of Education, vice chairman of China Dialectics Research Association, and director of the Institute of Advanced Philosophy of China Social Sciences Magazine. Chief expert of the compilation group of the syllabus of Introduction to Dialectics of Nature, a Marxist theoretical research and construction project of the Ministry of Education, chairman of Shanxi Dialectics of Nature Research Association, editor-in-chief of Research on Philosophy of Science and Technology, vice chairman of Shanxi Science and Technology Experts Association, and an expert enjoying special government allowance from the State Council. Professor Guo Guichun is a famous philosopher in China. His research on scientific realism is regarded as "an important academic town" and his research on philosophy of science in context is regarded as "one of the two theoretical innovation systems put forward by China's philosophy of science in the past 30 years". At present, he has published more than 300 papers in Research on Social Sciences and Philosophy in China. He is the author of more than 30 monographs, textbooks and translations, including Contemporary Scientific Realism, Postmodern Philosophy of Science and Development Trend of Contemporary Philosophy of Science. He presided over more than 30 national social science research fund projects and major research projects of philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education.
