What is the oldest school in China?
Chengdu Shishi Middle School, formerly known as "Shishi Jingshe", was founded by Wen Weng, the magistrate of Shu County in the last year of Emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty (about 1465438 BC). It is the first school founded by a local government in China and is recognized as the "oldest official school" in the world. Its name has been changed many times, but its position has never changed, which is rare in China and even in the world.
