North Minzu University is located in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China. It is a comprehensive ethnic college jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the China Academy of Sciences and the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Relying on Hefei University of Technology, it was selected as one of the first batch of universities that implemented the national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Business Incubator Demonstration Base, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Double Innovation Demonstration Base, the National Business Incubation Demonstration Base and the National Youth Entrepreneurship Demonstration Park. It is a member university of the Silk Road University Alliance.
The school, formerly known as Northwest Second University for Nationalities, was founded in 1984 and renamed North University for Nationalities in 2008.
As of June 2022, the school has a total floor area of 1624 mu, with a total construction area of 400,000 square meters. There are 22 colleges and 77 undergraduate majors; There are 2 doctoral degree authorization points in the first-level discipline, 2 master degree authorization points in the first-level discipline 13, and 3 master degree authorization points 13; There are nearly 1500 faculty members, nearly 1 100 full-time teachers, and more than 22,000 doctors, masters, undergraduates and preparatory students.
History of running a school
1984, founded by North University for Nationalities, formerly known as Northwest Second University for Nationalities. In 2000, it passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. On February 20th, 2002, 65438, China Academy of Sciences signed an agreement with the State Ethnic Affairs Commission to set up six universities in Dalian University for Nationalities, namely Central University for Nationalities, South-Central University for Nationalities, Northwest University for Nationalities, Southwest University for Nationalities, Northwest Second University for Nationalities and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
In 2004, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region signed a * * * construction agreement. In February 2006, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the North University for Nationalities on the basis of the former Northwest Second University for Nationalities for a period of two years. In 2007, he successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education and obtained the "excellent" grade.
