North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower (hereinafter referred to as "Huashui") is located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, on the bank of the Yellow River. It is a university established by the Ministry of Water Resources and the People's Government of Henan Province and mainly managed by Henan Province. The school has the right to award doctoral degrees. It is the key construction university in Henan Province, the first batch of national master's degree-granting universities, the basic capacity-building engineering universities in the central and western regions, the second batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" universities of the Ministry of Education, the only university in Henan Province with independent postgraduate enrollment qualifications, and the only university that undertakes the national "National High-level Key Talents Program".
The school, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, has been located in No.41 after three relocations. He has successively run schools in Beijing, Yuecheng, Handan, Zhengzhou and other places, and has gone through the periods of Beijing Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower, Hebei Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower, and North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower. In 2009, the Ministry of Water Resources signed a strategic agreement with Henan Province to jointly build North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, becoming the third institution aided by Henan Province. 20 13 changed its name to North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower in April.
