The school is located in Shijingshan District, Beijing, covering an area of 452 mu and a building area of 400,000 square meters. The school environment is elegant and has a strong humanistic atmosphere. 1986 established the first national art museum in science and engineering colleges, and 1992 was named the first batch of civilized campuses in Beijing.

The school was founded in 1946, formerly known as the National Peiping Advanced Industrial Vocational School.
