1, English language proficiency test
Swiss universities generally require IELTS score of 6 or 6.5, and some may require a small score, depending on the major you apply for. Switzerland is a multilingual country, and students have the opportunity to learn a second or third foreign language. The official languages of Switzerland are French, German, Italian and Roman, and English is the common language of industry, commerce and tourism.
2. German proficiency test
For international students, the most important German test is naturally the entrance language test of the university, while the Swiss language test for studying abroad is held twice a year by the language class or college preparatory class of the target university or the University of Fribourg before the start of school.
In addition, the more credible German tests in Switzerland are all held by Goethe University, including the general German proficiency test and the career-oriented German test.
There are ZMP (Intermediate German Test) and ZOP (Advanced German Test) related to international students in China, because more and more Swiss schools require students to pass this test when applying for admission.
3. French proficiency test
At present, the commonly used standard for measuring French proficiency is the same frame of reference of European languages, and the language proficiency is divided into six grades: A 1 C2 from low to high. In principle, Swiss public universities require illegal native speakers to have at least B2 or C 1 French proficiency. The French proficiency certificates recognized by Swiss universities include DELF (Diploma in French Studies), DALF (Diploma in French Studies) and DHEF (Diploma in Advanced French Studies).
