Yunnan Art College, referred to as "Yi Yun" for short, is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, one of the six major art colleges in China. It is a comprehensive art college in southwest China. Yunnan Arts University has early batch enrollment of arts and second batch enrollment of undergraduate both inside and outside Yunnan Province, which can be considered as two universities worthy of the name.

Yunnan Art College, founded in 1959, is one of the eight comprehensive undergraduate art colleges in China. The school can be traced back to Southwest Associated University Teachers College 1938. The main body was founded in Yunnan Art College in 1959, and was revoked in 1963 and transferred to the Art Department of Kunming Normal University. 1980 Yunnan Art College officially separated from Kunming Normal University and became an independent school-running institution.

The school has 12 teaching units and/kloc-0 affiliated art colleges, including conservatory, dance college, drama college, film and television college, fine arts college, design college, art management college, higher vocational college and continuing education college, national art research institute, Marxism college, public education department and physical education department. There are 35 undergraduate majors, involving art, literature, management and engineering.
