Changchun institute of technology is a provincial-level ordinary undergraduate college with engineering as the main course, coordinated development of management, science, art and literature, profound background in basic industries such as architecture, water conservancy, electric power and geology, and distinctive school-running characteristics. The school has the qualification to recruit high-level sports teams, and it is one of the first five universities in China to pilot the preparatory classes for the children of border guards. It was once one of the national 100 universities with the qualification to recruit national defense students.
