Founded in 1960, the school formerly known as Kunming College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1953. Yunnan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was formally established 1960. It is the second batch of higher Chinese medicine undergraduate colleges established in China. 1986 awarded the master's degree, and on 20 16 became the Yunnan provincial people's government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine.
Adhering to the school motto of "respecting morality harmoniously, learning well and becoming an official", the school has developed into a comprehensive college of traditional Chinese medicine with traditional Chinese medicine as the main body, ethnic medicine as the feature, undergraduate education as the foundation, the scale of postgraduate education constantly expanding, continuing education and foreign education showing a good trend, and the coordinated development of medicine, science, engineering and management.
