Beiyou is the abbreviation of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, which is the key construction of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It ranks among the national "world-class discipline construction universities" and "2 1 1 project". It is the first batch of outstanding engineer education and training plan of the Ministry of Education, the national postgraduate project of building a high-level university, and the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, and is known as the national postal industry talent training base.

Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, founded in 1955, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, is the first post and telecommunications institution in People's Republic of China (PRC), under the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. 1960 was identified as a national key university by the State Council. 1993, renamed as "Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications". In 2000, it was listed in the ranks of universities directly under the Ministry of Education.

This school enjoys a high reputation in the field of communication electronics. Its communication engineering discipline ranks first in the domestic discipline evaluation.
