School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering dates back to Yunnan East Road University, majoring in mechanical engineering 1922. It is one of the three departments (Mining Department, Metallurgical Department and Mechanical Department) of Kunming University of Science and Technology 1954. In 2003, undergraduate students 1954, master students 1965, doctoral students were enrolled. It is the oldest Kunming University of Science and Technology.
