1 Hubei University for Nationalities is located in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in the westernmost part of Hubei Province, adjacent to Chongqing. The school is a key university in Hubei Province jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and Hubei Province. Hubei University for Nationalities originated from 1938, Hubei Rural Normal Branch, and 1950 was renamed Enshi Normal School. Later, Enshi Normal University and Hubei University for Nationalities became ordinary undergraduate colleges. Enshi Medical College was founded in 1958, and started medical undergraduate education in 1977. 1998 Hubei University for Nationalities and Enshi Medical College merged to form a new Hubei University for Nationalities. 20 18 was renamed Hubei Institute for Nationalities.

2. Hubei Institute of Technology is located in Xianning City, Hubei Province. The school's predecessor was Puyin Normal School, which was established in 1937, Hubei No.1 Senior High School and Hubei Xianning Senior High School, which were established in 1942.
