Excellent comics. As a work that won the Japanese Science Fiction Award, parasitic beasts, like Watchers, have gone beyond the scope of comics.
When I first saw this cartoon in primary school, I was frightened by its bloody description-as a young cartoon, its taste is naturally comparable to that of a non-young cartoon.
When I was in college, I finished reading Parasitic Beast in one breath, and finally felt its awesome power-it can kill a large number of Japanese science fiction novels and a larger number of light novels! Well-structured stories, wonderful rhythms, full characters and so on, I won't mention them. As upstairs said, "terror" is just a carrier (parasitic beasts are less and less horrible in the future), which contains the author's deep thinking. The author conceived the whole story and presented it to the readers in an orderly way. You can feel the author's calmness: the author is just an outsider. No matter whether the parasitic animal kills or eats people, he calmly paints for you. As the story goes on, "terror" retreats behind the scenes, and deeper thinking emerges.
The commotion of parasitic beasts was put out in this city: the army encircled the parasitic beasts, Shinichi and Goto were the representatives of two species, and humans won (but the story is not over yet). I used to wonder why the author kept the story in this small pattern, but now I think it may be the author's ability. Too big a model may lead to out-of-control structures and anticlimactic excuses (negative examples: monsters and 20th century teenagers). If you have to find fault in an egg, parasitic beasts still have some prejudices. For example, "Beating an opponent stronger than human beings with love" is reflected in Mickey and the female teacher of parasitic beasts. There is also "evil human (human heart) is more terrible than parasitic beasts", which is reflected in the abnormal murderer (which is why the murderer is used as the end of the story). All in all. As an excellent juvenile comic book of science fiction, as long as you can overcome the discomfort of painting style and bloody description in the early days, you will be impressed by its power. Hematemesis recommended!
