The Department of Clinical Medicine was founded in June 1958, and its predecessor was the Department of Medicine of Shanxi Datong Medical College. After the establishment of Datong University in 2006, it was renamed the Department of Clinical Medicine, School of Medicine, Datong University. After 50 years' efforts, the Department of Clinical Medicine, under the leadership of new young leaders, integrates teaching, scientific research, medical treatment and service, and has made contributions to cultivating more outstanding medical talents to adapt to social development.
The department of clinical medicine mainly undertakes the tasks of theoretical teaching and experimental teaching of clinical medicine in medical colleges. There are 85 faculty members in the department, including 3 senior titles1person, accounting for 36.47% of the total number of the department, 24 intermediate titles, accounting for 28.23% of the total number of the department, 2 junior titles1person, accounting for 24.70% of the total number of the department, and 44.70% are under 35 years old and under 45 years old. There are 9 experimental technicians, 6 doctors' degrees, 36 masters' degrees, 2 masters' tutors, 3 provincial academic leaders 1 person, and 3 provincial young and middle-aged backbone teachers.
There are 14 teaching and research sections: internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, diagnostics, otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, stomatology, ophthalmology, epidemiology, medical psychology, preventive medicine, medical imaging, dermatology and neurology. 2 laboratories, internal laboratory and external general laboratory. One is in the library. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is about 2 million yuan. Neurology is a provincial key supporting discipline, with three provincial excellent courses, namely; Neurology, preventive medicine, psychological medicine. Internal medicine is a key construction discipline at the school level.
In the past five years, all teachers have participated in the compilation of more than 20 textbooks compiled by universities across the country. Won two excellent textbooks awards from the Ministry of Health, 6 teachers were hired as chief editors (deputy chief editors) and 26 teachers were hired as editorial boards. He has published more than 320 papers in the core journal * *, undertaken 8 provincial-level scientific research projects, won 3 provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards and 6 municipal-level scientific and technological progress awards, and was included in 15 by SCI, EI and ISTP.
