Why do college students need to know the national conditions in depth?
First of all, let college students have a clear and objective understanding of China's resource conditions and establish a sense of thrift. China has a large population, a weak foundation and few per capita resources. In recent years, land desertification and desertification have become more and more serious, the groundwater level has been declining year by year, and rivers have been seriously polluted ... In terms of resource possession, we can see the gap by comparing with our neighbor Russia: the population of Russia is about 1/9 of that of China, but the per capita land area is 16 to 17 times that of China; At present, Russian oil production is about 470 million tons, and the per capita oil production is 35 times that of China. Some of our college students, especially those studying abroad, envy the relaxed and luxurious living space of some western developed countries (in fact, many countries are not, especially Japanese and Nordic countries), but if they have a certain understanding of China's national conditions, they should know that it is impossible to blindly imitate the western model. China's national conditions determine that we must take the development road of building a "conservation-oriented society". Every college student should start from himself, establish a sense of diligence and thrift, and recognize the arduous task of building the country. Secondly, through national education, college students can have a correct evaluation of the economic development model. China has maintained high economic growth and improved people's lives for many years, which is a great achievement, but we have no reason to be complacent. Now people say that China has become a "world factory", and we export many products. We don't have the independent intellectual property rights of most high value-added products, but only earn a small amount of hard money from processing and manufacturing. Some high-tech enterprises are essentially "two heads out". Technology and raw materials are imported from abroad, and products are sold abroad. They are just using China's cheap labor to discharge pollutants in China. At a certain stage of development, some practices may be helpless choices, and they also have certain positive effects on a certain stage of development. However, we must understand that without free lunch, China must intensify its independent innovation if it wants to occupy a favorable position in the competition of economic development. At present, China's GDP growth is mainly driven by infrastructure projects such as export processing, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, South-to-North Water Transfer Project and real estate investment. The consumption and waste of resources are very serious. China's GDP accounts for about 4.5% of the world, while we consume 30% of the world's steel and 45% of the world's cement. The economic growth brought by this high consumption is unsustainable. After 1993, China's oil is a net import. In 2005, it imported 65438+300 million tons of oil, and its dependence on foreign countries reached 43%. At present, domestic oil production is unlikely to increase, and demand is rising with economic development. According to conservative estimates, by 2020, China's annual oil demand will reach 450 million to 500 million tons, and it needs to import at least 300 million tons every year. However, the competition or cooperative mining from foreign countries is fierce, and countries such as the United States and Japan are also maliciously spoiling the situation, and the political and economic costs are high. In the future, China must strengthen independent innovation, drive economic development with independent innovation, reduce energy and resource consumption as much as possible, actively implement the strategy of replacing oil, and vigorously develop and utilize clean energy such as solar energy and wind energy. Third, let college students know about agriculture, countryside and farmers and see the huge gap between urban and rural areas. Many college students have lived in cities since childhood, only seeing the luxurious side of cities, and not knowing much about poverty and backwardness in rural areas. China's vast rural areas are not only economically backward, but also lack of social security such as medical care and endowment insurance, and the construction of democracy and legal system is also seriously lagging behind. A large number of rural surplus labor force is difficult to transform into human resources! In addition, after the reform and opening up, people's income has increased substantially and their lives have improved significantly. However, there are still many feudal and semi-colonial things in their ideological concepts, and their cultural quality has not been greatly improved. Why is this? It is worth thinking about for college students. The ancients said: Born in sorrow, died in happiness. National education should face up to all kinds of problems and contradictions in reality. These problems and contradictions are unavoidable, but they are by no means spreading negative pessimism. In my opinion, children who have not yet formed a sound thinking and judgment ability should be given more positive publicity to guide them to establish national pride and self-esteem. For college students with independent thinking ability, we should observe them more comprehensively and deeply, let them establish a sense of crisis and responsibility, realize the long-term and arduous nature of building a socialist modern country, and be prepared for dedication. In colleges and universities, it is necessary to popularize and strengthen national education, integrate it into ideological and political courses, or offer lectures to let college students know an objective and true China, so as to seriously think about the future of the country and the nation and the meaning of life.
