QS Global Education Group released the 2020 world university discipline ranking. There are 1 18 universities in China, with 1066 disciplines selected in the global top 600 (84 in China) and 188 disciplines selected in the global top 50 (China 100). The number of universities in China that have entered the top 50 in the world has increased for five consecutive years, which is the first time in the ranking history.

Specifically, there are five disciplines in China that are ahead of the world 10, an increase of 1 over last year. Tsinghua University's materials science, environmental science, civil engineering and structural engineering are all among them, and Peking University's modern linguistics and China Agricultural University's agriculture and forestry majors are also in the top ten.

Among the top 20 disciplines in the world, Tsinghua University 13, Peking University 10 and Tongji University have two (Art Design 13, Architecture 18). Among the top 50 disciplines in the world, there are 100 disciplines in Chinese mainland 18 universities, which is 54% higher than 20 16.

Among them, there are 32 in Peking University, 22 in Tsinghua University, 0/2 in Shanghai Jiaotong University, 0/0 in Fudan University, 3 in Zhejiang University, 3 in Wuhan University and Tongji University, 2 in Nanjing University and University of Science and Technology of China, and 2 in Beijing Normal University, China Agricultural University, South China Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University and Renmin University.

It is reported that this ranking spans 5 major disciplines and 48 disciplines, and evaluates 1368 universities in 83 countries and regions around the world. The ranking results come from the evaluation of 94,000 scholars, the comprehensive evaluation of 44,000 employers on the global employment competitiveness of college graduates, and the analysis of 22.5 million research papers and 65.438+62 billion cited data in the abstract database Scopus.

QS World University Ranking is an annual authoritative ranking of world universities published by Quacquarelli Symonds, an educational institution. There are four important indicators in this ranking: academic reputation of institutions, reputation of employers, number of citations of each paper and H index.
