Zhejiang University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and outstanding reputation, located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and a scenic tourist attraction in China. Qiushi College, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897. It is one of the earliest new institutions of higher learning founded by the people of China. 1928, named National Zhejiang University. During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhejiang University moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan of Guizhou for seven years, and moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn of 1946.
1952, when the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, most of the departments in Zhejiang were transferred to brother universities and Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the main parts left in Hangzhou were divided into several single-subject colleges, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University respectively. From 65438 to 0998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University, and then embarked on a new journey to create a world-class university.
During his administration in Zhejiang, General Secretary Xi Jinping personally contacted Zhejiang University and visited 18 times. He made a series of important instructions for the reform and development of the school, and described the grand blueprint for building a world-class university with China characteristics at a high level. In the course of 120 years, Zhejiang University has always adhered to the fine tradition of "seeking truth and innovation" as its motto, taking the world as its own responsibility and relying on truth, and gradually formed a group of Zhejiang University people who are "diligent, Xiu De, discerning and incorruptible", sharing the same values and "eclectic, inspiring truth, goodness and beauty, developing people's wisdom and building the motherland"
