Heilongjiang institute of technology, formerly known as Jixi University, was founded in 1984. 1988 merged with Jixi Economic Commission Staff University and Jixi Radio and TV University, and 1999 merged with Jixi Normal School. In 20 13, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate school and renamed heilongjiang institute of technology. By 2022, Heilongjiang University of Technology ranked 573rd in China University of Soft Science in 2022.
