Some experiences about mindfulness, meditation and Zen
Yuval harari, the author of A Brief History of Humanity, said that in the open class of Chaos University, he was asked a question, "How did you form this unique perspective of observing human beings?"

He first replied that he didn't know. After a pause, he said it might be because he spends two hours in meditation every day, attends four to six weeks of retreats every year, turns off his mobile phone and all electronic devices, and only gets along with his heart.

Anyone who has read the biography of Jobs knows that Jobs is deeply influenced by Zen Buddhism and Indian yoga. The Heart of the Zen Master by Shunliu Suzuki was Jobs' favorite work before his death.

Wang Chuanqiao likes to lead company executives to sit quietly and meditate together.

Recently, I am reading the book Zen Heart, and I am also rethinking my practice in mindfulness and meditation.

One form of exercise is "standing piles". In terms of time, 19 16 began to meditate intermittently in September, and 10 was changed to stand piles, trying to keep it uninterrupted every day. Practice length, from the first fifteen minutes to twenty minutes, to thirty minutes. Formally, I started by keeping quiet, listening to music, being quiet, and now listening to audio guidance (mentioned below).

This paper combines nan huaijin's books I have read and the recently completed course "Demystifying Mindfulness" (this course is free, and interested children's shoes can be searched. But you need to climb over the wall. ), talk about my understanding of meditation, mindfulness and pranayama, and some experiences in my own practice.

On "Visualization" in South China

I had a reflection when I stood on the stump for four months, and I couldn't concentrate when I meditated. Taiji teacher taught the method of "counting breaths": focus on breathing, take one breath at a time, and record it as "once"; One breath, one shout, is recorded as "secondary", and so on, and counted in turn. If your attention is diverted and you are not breathing, count it again.

When I used this method, I found that I broke it seven or eight times in a row for thirty minutes at most (and then counted it again), and then I was depressed, and my concentration time was too short.

The calculation method of "counting breath" is also mentioned in Deciphering Mindfulness. This method is not recommended in the course because it will bring psychological pressure to the practitioners. What is advocated in the course is: if you find your attention wandering, pull it back gently.

I am following the audio practice of "Decrypting Mindfulness".

Guide the teacher to say: when you realize that you have escaped, it is good, which means that you "realize" this (we are often in the automatic driving mode without knowing it), and then focus on breathing again. Pull your attention back as many times as you run away Don't be too hard on yourself.

This reduces the psychological burden a lot, and you can follow the guidance station for 40 minutes in the near future.

It is not easy to keep practicing every day. Sometimes it will be interrupted for a day or two. I used to be depressed and felt that I didn't manage myself well. After listening to this class, I relaxed a lot psychologically and stopped blaming myself too much. If there is no way to practice that day for various reasons, the psychological burden will not be too heavy. The key point is to make a plan and take time out to practice the next day.

Talk about the "technical" level.

Mr. Nan said "Ding"

Teacher Nan talks about "visualization" and practices it once every morning and evening.

If you can reach this level, you can not use the tomato clock, haha.

-Excerpts from nan huaijin's Taiji Zhuan and Dao Gong (lazy, I didn't knock this paragraph once, and found the original CTRL+C &;; Ctrl+V If you can't find the simplified version, look at the traditional version. )

Although I haven't knocked once, I have watched the above paragraph several times. The conclusion is.

I first came into contact with the concept of mindfulness last year, when I heard the book club in Fan Deng talk about the miracle of mindfulness.

The definition of "mindfulness" in this book is: "Pay attention to what is happening now". For example, when washing dishes, you should wash the bowl well, feel the water flowing through your hands and feel your hands rubbing on the bowl. It's not mindfulness to think about watching TV while washing dishes.

Listening to Demystifying Mindfulness has given me a more comprehensive understanding of Mindfulness.

"Unveiling the Mystery of Mindfulness" literally translates as "Deciphering Mindfulness".

But after class, I am reluctant to translate mindfulness into "mindfulness". There are still differences between English and Chinese. Even the Chinese word "mindfulness" has different interpretations.

This course is divided into two parts, one is about theory, the other is about practice, and two or three different audio segments are provided for students to practice every week.

The two teachers who recorded the audio were the teachers of Mindfulness, a professional professor at Oxford University and Bangor University, and their voices were very magnetic. I can easily spend 30 minutes meditating with the audio.

In the first week of the course, students who mention this course need to ensure that they practice "mindfulness" with audio at a certain time every day. If you can't spare the time, then you need to reconsider whether it is a good time to take this course. Maybe you're not ready, so wait until you are.

Meditation and standing on the stump are just one way to practice mindfulness. Through practice, you can remind yourself that you always live in the present.

It is still very challenging for me to spend 30 minutes standing on the pile every day. At first, I often thought, let's finish these 30 minutes quickly. I have also "finished my task" and can do other things.

"Decoding mindfulness" and "Zen mind" both convey the same meaning: don't think about what kind of results you can achieve after completing the exercise. This exercise is what you want to do, that is, the process you want to experience and experience.

The most important thing is the practice itself, and the most important thing is this moment.

Why practice meditation and mindfulness? Everyone has their own reasons. Yuval Harari and Jobs had their reasons for practicing.

My reason is to know myself better.

Please forgive my affectation and end with Nietzsche's words: You might as well take risks to treat life, because at least you will lose it. If there is a miracle in this world, it is just another name for hard work. The most difficult stage of life is not that no one knows you, but that you don't know yourself.
