The tragic situation can be imagined. In recent years, hundreds of doctors have been enrolled, and 90% of the books are inseparable from the college. Not to mention municipal projects, in third-and fourth-tier cities, how can the government support scientific research without money?
Second, the teaching pressure is too great. Local colleges and universities tend to basic teaching, and the training goal is to serve the local area, face China and go global. Therefore, pay more attention to teaching quality. Mainly reflected in the usual teaching activities, the requirements for teachers of various subjects should be very detailed and comprehensive. For example, if there are more than two classes in a major, the Academic Affairs Office will ask for classes in different classes, which is euphemistically called small class quality courses, resulting in the same class being taught twice. When evaluating professional titles, there are clear requirements for teaching achievements, such as winning teaching achievement award, or guiding students to participate in the second prize of provincial teaching competition and the third prize of national teaching competition. Or participate in the teaching contest to get the relevant ranking. These awards have a low hit rate and require a lot of time to prepare, so many teachers are reluctant to participate.
Third, the pressure of life is very small. The salary of teachers is much higher than the local average salary of 3-4 thousand! After all, it is compiled at the provincial level, and the salary is directly issued by the provincial offices; If both sides are doctors, life is wonderful. Time is really free. There are indeed many holidays!
