The Economic Development of Tangqi Town
In 2006, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town reached 65.438+03.096 billion yuan, the per capita income of farmers was 65.438+00.636 yuan, and the total fiscal revenue was 295 million yuan. Tangqi has now formed four dominant industries: metal products, candied food, pesticides and chemicals, knitting and clothing, as well as traditional industries such as silk, clothing and building materials, and has made great efforts to cultivate emerging industries focusing on auto parts, machinery, electronics and packaging. Under the correct leadership of Yuhang District Party Committee and District Government, Tangqi Town Party Committee and Government take "prospering the culture of canal water town and reviving Tangqi Millennium ancient town" as the overall development goal. During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period, they seized the opportunity, taking the construction of Tangqi water town culture as the background, modern industry as the pillar, characteristic agriculture as the foundation, the construction of new countryside as the opportunity, the construction of "Hangzhou Venice" Tangqi water city project as the breakthrough point, and trade as the breakthrough point.

Tangqi, located at the southern end of Hangjiahu Plain, is a famous water town in the south of the Yangtze River. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the 09 Provincial Highway run through the town, with superior geographical location and convenient land and water transportation. The town governs 46 administrative villages, 1 1 residential areas, with a total area of 79 square kilometers and a total population of more than 90,000. Rich in products, outstanding people, known as "the land of flowers and fruits, the land of plenty, the house of silk." Tangqi's modern industry started earlier in Zhejiang Province. In the 22nd year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1896), Pang Yuanji, a wealthy businessman from Nanxun, and Ding Bing, a businessman from Hangzhou, founded the "Dalun Silk Factory" near Dongrihui Bridge in Tangqi Town, which was one of the first three machine silk reeling factories in Zhejiang, and initiated the national capital industry. Later, Xianglun (1925), Yuchong (1926), Hua Lun (1929) and other silk factories were successively established in the town, making this water town an important town of silk industry in the province.

During the period of 1929, the Zhejiang provincial government held the West Lake Expo, and the silk products of three silk factories in Tangqi were invited to participate, winning the special prize and the first prize one after another, which made them famous for a while and their products were exported overseas.

1935, according to the survey conducted by the Construction Department of Zhejiang Provincial Government at that time, there were 29 mechanical silk reeling factories and 7,598 mechanical silk reeling vehicles in the whole province, and Tangqi Town accounted for 13.8% and 19.8% of the whole province respectively, making it a famous mechanical silk reeling factory in the whole province. However, in Tangqi Town, except reeling, other industries developed slowly. Some oil factories, rice factories and wineries that appeared in the early years of the Republic of China were only manual workshops at best, and there was almost no mechanization.

By the liberation of Tangqi in 1949, there were only two dying silk mills, a power plant, two oil mills, three rice mills, four printing houses and four sauce mills left in the town. Except for the silk factory, the others are pitifully small. After the founding of New China, the Party and the government vigorously supported private industries, and adopted various measures such as loans, investments, and entrusted processing, so that those enterprises that stopped working quickly resumed work and gradually moved towards normal. Attracted by the party's preferential policies, some private owners have invested in setting up industries, which has enabled the town's industrial production to resume.

By 1960, there are ten state-owned and public-private joint-venture factories in the town, with 1389 employees and an annual output value of15.77 million yuan; There are 0/6 factories and 0/789 employees in the town, with an annual output value of 3,622,500 yuan.

From 65438 to 0978, with the shift of the focus of the Party's work, industrial production showed a momentum of rapid development, and rural industries also gained good opportunities for development. For a time, industrial enterprises and industrial population in the town rose rapidly, and industrial categories gradually improved.

In 2006, the total industrial output value of the town reached 65.438+02.632 billion yuan, an increase of 292.79% compared with 2006.5438+0, with an average annual increase of 365.438+0.47%. The industrial profit was 357 million yuan, reaching 82. 1 billion yuan in five years. In 2005, Hangzhou ranked fourth in the comprehensive evaluation of industrial economic indicators, 8 places higher than in 2004. Adhere to supporting the excellent and the strong, and give play to the leading role of key enterprises. In 2006, the number of large-scale enterprises reached 160, a net increase of 65 compared with 5,438+0 in 2006, of which 10/8 were enterprises with RMB 0.00 billion. Since 1992, Tangqi Town has been listed as a pilot town of 100 small towns by the state, and has successively won "Top 100 Towns with Economic Strength in Zhejiang Province" and "Top 10 Towns with Comprehensive Social and Economic Strength in Hangzhou". In 2000, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was more than 3 billion yuan, the total rural economic income was 2.9 billion yuan, and the per capita income of farmers was 5,338 yuan.
