The research base of language cognition and language application of Chongqing University was established in September 2004, and was officially listed as the key research base of humanities and social sciences in Chongqing in September 2007. The base consists of seven research institutes, including the Institute of Language Cognition and Information Processing, the Institute of Foreign Literature, the Institute of ESP, the Institute of Language Testing, the Institute of Foreign Language Education Technology, the Institute of Modern Foreign Language Education, the Corpus Institute, the Computational Linguistics Laboratory, the Psycholinguistics Laboratory and the Editorial Department of Foreign Language and Literature Research, two laboratories and an editorial department.
