Huazhong Normal University is a key comprehensive normal university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "2 1 1 Project" key construction university, a national "985" dominant discipline innovation platform to build a university, and the first batch of units approved by the state to confer doctoral and master's degrees. The school is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, which is the thoroughfare of nine provinces.
