Ningbo University has five campuses, namely East Campus, West Campus, North Campus, Botanical Garden Campus and Meishan Campus. Ningbo University is called Ningda for short, and the school is located in Ningbo. Ningbo University is a university jointly established by China people, Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, Ningbo Municipal People's Government, State Oceanic Administration and Ningbo Municipal People's Government. It is the first batch of "double-first-class" world-class discipline construction universities in China and the first batch of key construction universities in Zhejiang Province. Ningbo University was founded on 1986 with a donation from Bao Yugang, and Deng Xiaoping wrote the name of the university. At the beginning of its establishment, Ningbo University was aided by Zhejiang University, Fudan University, China University of Science and Technology, Peking University and the former Hangzhou University. 1996 The former Ningbo University, Ningbo Normal University and Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged to form a new Ningbo University.
