Wuhan University of Science and Technology is a college. The school has a complete range of disciplines and distinctive features, and has built a comprehensive university discipline system with engineering as the mainstay, science and engineering as the combination, and the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, medicine, literature, economics, law, philosophy, art and teaching.

The school has 10 provincial key disciplines, 5 provincial key (cultivation) disciplines and 2 provincial dominant and characteristic disciplines.
