Brief introduction of Shenzhen University School of Life Sciences
The School of Life Sciences of Shenzhen University was established in March 2002 on the basis of the Department of Biological Engineering of the former College of Science and Technology. The college has two undergraduate majors in biotechnology and bioscience, and two master majors in cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Among them, biotechnology is a famous major in Guangdong Province, and cell biology is a key construction support discipline in Guangdong Province. In addition, the Microbial Genetic Engineering Laboratory is a key laboratory in Shenzhen.
There are 42 faculty members in the School of Life Sciences, including 1 member of China Academy of Sciences, 4 doctoral supervisors, 8 professors, and 8 associate professors1member, among whom 24 have doctoral degrees. There are five research directions in the college, namely, recombinant cellulase in charge of Professor Xing Miao, magnetic biology in charge of Professor Zheng Yizhi, stress-resistant gene cloning in charge of Professor Hu, and series research on allergens of allergic diseases in charge of Professor Hu.
