According to the orders of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the First Military Medical University was handed over to Guangdong Province in August 2004, and now it is renamed Southern Medical University, which is the only medical college among provincial key construction universities.

The quality of teaching in this school is very good. In the national qualification examination for medical practitioners, the highest pass rate of clinical medicine ranks fourth in the country, and Chinese medicine ranks third in the country 1.

2. Second Military Medical University

The Second Military Medical University, founded in September of 1949, is one of the key construction institutions of the national "2 1 1 project" and the "530 project" of the General Logistics Department.

In terms of disciplines, rear professional service, military maritime medicine, military preventive and protective medicine (including military pharmacy) are the key construction disciplines of the Army's "2 1 10 Project".

3. Third Military Medical University

The Third Military Medical University, located in Chongqing, is one of the key construction institutions of "2 1 10 Project". On the basis of it and Bethune Medical NCO School 20 17, it was merged into the Eighth Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and the 260th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army to form a new Army Medical University.

4. Fourth Military Medical University

The Fourth Military Medical University merged with the former Fifth Military Medical University 1954 to form the present Air Force Military Medical University. In terms of discipline strength, its stomatology discipline ranks with Peking University and Sichuan University to enter A+.
