The experimental middle school affiliated to Beijing Normal University is the first batch of demonstration high schools in Beijing. It is the experimental base of basic education reform of the Ministry of Education and Beijing Normal University, the experimental base of key scientific research projects of the Ministry of Education and Beijing Normal University, the experimental school of modern educational technology of the Ministry of Education and the window school for foreign exchange, the advanced school of national health care and traditional project (volleyball), the advanced school of educational science research in Beijing, the demonstration school of scientific and technological activities in primary and secondary schools in Beijing and the popular science education base. The school was founded in 19 17, formerly known as the girls' middle school affiliated to Beijing Normal University. It has a fine tradition of education and teaching, and is famous throughout the country for its rigorous scholarship and excellent education. Famous female scientists Hao Yichun (academician of China Academy of Sciences), Hu Qiheng (former vice president of China Academy of Sciences), female journalists Pu Xixiu, Chen, female general Nie Li and female painter all graduated here.
