In universities, administrative work is an important part of the overall work of the school. With the continuous development of EQ, people have a new understanding and higher requirements for EQ, and EQ has become more and more important in the management of colleges and universities. Based on the characteristics of administrative work in colleges and universities, this paper analyzes five characteristics that distinguish administrative work in colleges and universities from other administrative work, namely, different clients, different work flexibility, different work stability, different work continuity and different work sustainability, and then analyzes three aspects of "emotional intelligence" embodied in administrative work in colleges and universities and how to make it serve administrative work.
