I am a junior in science and engineering at Xiamen University. In the past three years, I have never met anything that makes me feel that administration or teaching is very inappropriate, and neither have my classmates. There are no teachers who deliberately make things difficult for others, and there are no administrative delays. Counselors can consider many things from the perspective of students, which I think is very rare in domestic universities. Moreover, the natural environment of the school is surrounded by mountains and rivers, which is located in prosperity, convenience and moist life.

These two days' anniversary really felt the inheritance of several generations of Xiamen University people, and tens of thousands of alumni returned to school in a few days. Nothing happened in Zhihu. In fact, XMUers spent an unforgettable centenary celebration these days, which moved me beyond words.

Although Xiamen University has its fly in the ointment, it is more or less restricted by the region and the times, and there are also some reasons for personnel changes. Many complaints about Xiamen University in recent years also lie in the decline of Xiamen University's reputation and academics. But I think the reputation of colleges and universities is temporary. Xiamen University is also a 985 college with full strength and high recognition. A century-old university can stand the test of time.

Specifically, Xiamen University is not that big. The academic pressure of Xiamen University is really relatively small. Even in the semester when I took the most courses, there was almost no need to stay up late because I was too busy (this is my own feeling), and the pressure of some colleges may be even greater. In addition, Xiamen University students have a relatively peaceful mentality and less ambiguous remarks on public networks. The relationship between students is also very harmonious, and few students have survived for some vicious competition. At one time, I was worried that with the academic intensity and competitive pressure within Xiamen University, I would not be able to learn enough solid things in the future, and my ability in my work was insufficient. But later I learned that many times, big homework, big tests or exercise papers at two ends in three days will only add trouble to my classmates. On the contrary, this relatively relaxed environment allows capable students to have more time to study independently.

When the pressure is high, you can see the beautiful sea in two steps. You can cycle around half of Xiamen Island along the island road. You can find a cure in the snack street full of fireworks in the apartment. Feel free to chat with the owner of the family-run shop. You can also find coffee shops all over the campus. In this environment, it is really difficult to have a strong and lasting depression. One of the phenomena I noticed is that Xiamen University has hardly jumped off a building in recent years. I believe this is no accident.
