School of International Education of Shandong University was established in 1994, and now it has developed from an initial Chinese language training institution for foreign students into a comprehensive education management institution integrating international education for foreign students, personnel training for Chinese international education, the construction of Confucius Institute and the construction of a national Chinese international promotion base. Since the merger of schools in 2000, the college has recruited and trained about 12000 foreign students from more than 100 countries.
