Graduation ceremony, when I received the award on stage, I was very emotional.
2010165438+1October 5th is a special day for me. After a period of studying abroad, I finally got my first degree in my life on this day. At that moment, I was deeply touched!
The road to studying abroad is bumpy, the life of studying abroad is not as beautiful as originally imagined, and learning is not as simple as what we heard in China. During this period of overseas study and life, we experienced all kinds of firsts, and these moments full of joy and hardship will be deeply buried in our memory.
On this day's graduation ceremony, when I took the stage to receive the award, scenes from six years ago flashed in front of my eyes. On June 4th, 2004, I came to this strange country. The moment I walked out of the plane door, I suddenly found that everything around me had changed. There were English posters and English broadcasts. I seemed deaf and dumb, and I couldn't understand what they were saying or how to express myself. The feeling of loss is still fresh in my memory.
The first time I went to school, the teacher showed everyone the familiar environment. A group of freshmen are walking in the drizzle. The dark sky, humid air and the smell of earth make people feel unspeakable sadness.
The first lunch, an ordinary hot dog that can't be ordinary is actually 75 RMB. After complaining to each other, the students really don't know how to speak with hot dogs in their hands.
The first time I went to the bank to open an account, I didn't understand the explanation of the staff, nor did he understand the questions I wanted to ask. It took two hours to communicate with the staff to complete the formalities, and all I got was a children's card (only withdrawal, not credit card). As for the reason, it took me several months to understand, because I was not yet 16 years old and could not meet the age requirement.
Going home for the first time has become a problem again. Nobody told us how to get home, so we had to go back to school and ask for a map. We asked a lot of people with the phrase "How can I get to xxxxx?" learned from a domestic book. It took nearly two hours to find a place to live. What I got was not the concern of the landlord, but the complaint that my coming back too late affected their normal eating time. There are many firsts that I have never experienced in China. All these make me learn to be independent and learn to grow from the lessons of repeated failures.
The way of learning in Britain is different from that in China. We have been exposed to specialized courses since childhood. The study of specialized courses is new to us, and we have never been exposed to it. Writing a paper is the biggest challenge for us, and it is empty talk, so every paper we write needs to read a lot of articles to prove our point of view.
Language barriers have a great influence on learning. We can't fully understand what the teacher said in class, and we can't understand the main points of the problem when doing the problem. All these require us to spend time and energy to overcome. The secret of language improvement, as teachers say, needs to communicate with local people as much as possible. In this process, we can not only improve our language ability, but also understand the local culture, which is very helpful for people to get along with each other. A-Level study is a good preparation for students studying the same major in university, which can make us easily adapt to the study life in university.
College life is beautiful and colorful, and all kinds of clubs let us choose according to our own interests.
In the past year, the school teachers have given me great help. Careful explanation and patient teaching have helped me find the right direction in my life and study. Especially as the first batch of foreign students from China in Croydon College, Professor Cao Qun, Vice President of Chinese, often takes time out of his busy schedule to take care of our lives.
Before moving to Croydon, President Cao carefully selected the dormitory for us and bought daily necessities for us, which gave us more time to study. He also tried his best to help us communicate with the school to solve all kinds of difficulties, and arranged for the secretary, Mrs. Elinda Stanton, to care about our daily life and ensure that the problems we encountered could be solved in the first time.
Mr Jason Pemberton-Billing, the head of the business school, also helped me overcome the difficulties before graduation, which enabled me to successfully obtain the Offer for graduate students. Mrs. Helen Spruce, the teacher in charge of students' curriculum arrangement and personal situation in business school, helped me solve many learning problems, such as how to prepare for the exam of paper type and writing skills. At the same time, I also thank other school leaders and teachers for their help and teaching.
Now, I have graduated, and I am working hard in an institution of higher learning. Today next year, I am about to enter the society, fighting for my ideal and running around. ...
