The grade point system is one of the important supporting measures to implement the credit system. Since 1985 China began to advocate the implementation of the credit system, people have discussed and studied the credit system more, lacking the discussion of the grade point system, thus affecting the smooth implementation of the credit system.
This paper analyzes and studies many problems existing in the process of adopting GPA system in domestic universities, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures on the basis of comparing with GPA system implemented in American universities.

Scholarships are often selected with reference to grade points.

Students who are recommended to walk by some middle schools in China are exempted from taking the national unified entrance examination for ordinary colleges and universities with the consent of the relevant ordinary colleges and universities.
