Since the formal establishment of 1956, the neurosurgery department of Guizhou Medical University has been developing for more than 60 years. Under the leadership of famous domestic experts such as Professor Shi Ying, Professor Wu Ruoqiu, Professor Wan and Professor Liu Jian, the department has always been aiming at the frontier of medicine at home and abroad, actively developing sophisticated diagnosis and treatment technology, making the diagnosis and treatment level of neurosurgery among the domestic advanced ranks, and has developed into the largest and largest neurosurgery in Guizhou Province. The main technologies developed by the department are: minimally invasive neurosurgery, neurointerventional diagnosis and treatment (especially the treatment of acute cerebral infarction, aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, vascular stenosis, spinal vascular malformation and other vascular diseases is in the leading position in the west), microsurgical treatment of skull base and spinal cord tumor, microsurgical decompression of trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm, neuronavigation technology, neuroendoscope technology, DBS treatment of Parkinson's disease, gamma knife stereotactic radiotherapy for intracranial benign and malignant diseases and cerebrovascular diseases, and the only head in the province. Discipline occupies a leading position in the province, and the future development will increase the research platform construction of microsurgery laboratory and basic research laboratory to further serve the clinic; Strengthen minimally invasive neurosurgery and develop towards precision neurosurgery; Broaden the application scope of neuroendoscope, neuronavigation, electrophysiology and intraoperative ultrasound, improve the quality of life of patients and reduce complications.
Since 20 13, our department has used the first mixed operating room in Guizhou Province to organically combine the advantages of microsurgery and endovascular interventional therapy, greatly reducing their respective unfavorable factors, and has carried out more than 0/00 high-quality operations on complex neurovascular diseases such as aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, arteriovenous fistula and CCF in neurosurgery. There are three wards in neurosurgery, with beds 172 (20 in intensive care), and the annual average bed utilization rate 108%. The department has a discipline team of 100 people. At present, the department has four tutors, two second-level professors, four-level professors 1 person, eight chief physicians, eight deputy chief physicians, two associate professors1person, two doctoral tutors, five master tutors, two attending physicians and four residents.
