Introduction of Jiangnan University:

Jiangnan University, located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a national "world-class discipline construction university", a national "21/engineering" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform" key construction university, and selected as a national "1/plan".

Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, National College Students' Innovation Experiment Program, National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, and National New Engineering Research and Practice Program are members of the High-level Industry-featured University Quality Resource Sharing Alliance and the "Belt and Road" University Food Education Science and Technology Alliance.

China government scholarship institution for overseas students, the national cultural quality education base for college students, and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases in colleges and universities. Jiangnan University originated from Sanjiang Normal School founded by 1902, and experienced the development period of National Central University and Nanjing University.

1952 the food industry department of Nanjing institute of technology (now southeast university) was established by relevant departments of Nanjing university, Fudan university, Wuhan university, Zhejiang university and private Jiangnan university; 1958, the whole department moved eastward to Wuxi and established Wuxi Institute of Light Industry. 1962 Wuxi Textile Vocational and Technical College merged into Wuxi Institute of Light Industry; 1995 was renamed Wuxi University of Light Industry.

200 1 Wuxi University of Light Industry, Jiangnan College and Wuxi Institute of Education merged to form Jiangnan University; In 2003, Donghua University Wuxi Campus was merged into Jiangnan University.
