Tongji University was formerly the German Medical College founded by German doctor paulun erich in 1907. 1908 was renamed Tongji Wende yiguang; 19 12, together with the newly established Tongji Devon Medical College, is called Tongji Devon Medical College; Tongji University was officially named1923; 1927 National Tongji University, one of the seven earliest national universities in China.

School scientific research base

Tongji University has built a number of major scientific research platforms, such as the world's largest multifunctional vibration experimental center, the first domestic ground vehicle wind tunnel center, the first domestic comprehensive experimental platform for urban rail transit, the first domestic long-term scientific observation system for seabed, the Shanghai Independent Intelligent Unmanned System Science Center, and the Cell Drying and Fate Editing Science Center.
